Getting ready for the biggest night in music, some of the industry’s biggest names joined together onstage at the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards rehearsals at Staples Center on Saturday (January 30).
With Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson and Usher all on-hand, the five singing sensations sported 3-D shades as they readied to pay tribute to the King of Pop Michael Jackson during the evening ceremony.
Of the night’s plans, Miss Underwood recently told MTV, “The Grammys obviously wanted to pay tribute to Michael Jackson and his music, so they wanted to do something that he was passionate about. So, they asked all of us, I guess five of us, to be a part of it. ... I’ve met Usher. Obviously, I’ve met Jennifer Hudson. I think I’ve met all of them actually, but I don’t think I’ve ever sang with any of them, so I’m really very excited to be even considered in that group of names.”
“Hopefully, [the tribute performers are] people that he respected and liked,” Carrie added. “I’m just honored they asked me. Of course, we said yes before we knew the details. I’m there, and I think it will be a really cool moment on the show.”
The Grammy Awards will be airing live on CBS from the Staples Center on Sunday night (January 30) at 8PM.

Taking a break from their week ending work duties, the stars of “Glee” were all spotted on the Los Angeles set on Friday afternoon (January 29).
Grabbing up a quick lunch, the shows lovely ladies including Lea Michele, Dianna Agron, Jessalyn Gilsig and Jenna Ushkowitz were all spotted by on-set paparazzi.
As for the fellas, Cory Monteith, Mark Salling and Kevin McHale made their trailer exits one-by-one - with the three boys sporting all-black attire.

Sandra Bullock and her husband Jesse James have hired a pet detective to find their missing pit bull dog Cinnabun.
Sandra Bullock’s husband has hired a pet detective to find their missing dog.
The ‘Blind Side’ actress and her biker spouse Jesse James – who wed in 2005 – are so distraught their beloved pet dog Cinnabun is missing, they have enlisted the help of a pet recovery service.
Colleen Busch, from pet detective agency Find Toto, told website E! Online: “I’m in contact with Sandra and Jesse all day. We’ve been going back and forth checking on tips.”
As well as hiring a detective, the couple have started an online campaign to raise awareness of the missing mutt and help bring her home safely after she went missing from their home in Seal Beach, California, on Monday (25.01.10).
In a plea for information, Jesse – who runs West Coast Choppers motorcycle company – wrote on the company’s website: “We’ve had a few leads, but all dead ends so far, but the search is still definitely on. She’s a great little dog, and we want to find her as soon as possible.
“Please keep your eyes out for our little gal, she’s a light brown and white pit bull, 9 months old, cropped ears, full tail, hazel eyes. Last seen wearing a large pink collar near West Coast Choppers and Cisco Burger on Anaheim St./710 Freeway in Long Beach.”
Jesse also offered a $2,000 reward to anyone who safely returns the pooch.
This is not the first time a celebrity has hired a pet detective to find a missing beloved animal.
Last year, Jessica Simpson also telephoned Find Toto after her dog Daisy was snatched by a coyote. Sadly the Maltipoo was never found.

Actor Elmore “Rip” Torn has been arrested for breaking into a Salisbury bank and carrying a firearm while intoxicated.
Connecticut state police said the 78-year-old Salisbury resident was arrested Friday night after police found him inside the Litchfield Bancorp with a loaded revolver.
The “Men in Black” actor was taken into custody and booked on numerous criminal charges, including burglary and possession of firearm without a permit.
He was held on $100,000 bond and is scheduled for a Monday appearance in Bantam Superior Court.
Last year, Torn was given probation in a Connecticut drunken driving case and granted permission to enter an alcohol education program. He also has two previous drunken driving arrests in New York.
A spokesman for Torn did not immediately return phone calls.

Brittany Murphy’s death investigation has taken a mysterious turn — the L.A. County Coroner’s Office is now trying to fill in some critical gaps in her medical history … sources tell TMZ.
We’ve learned Brittany was suffering from severe anemia and other conditions and was under a doctor’s care. The Coroner’s Office received medical files from her doctor … but they show her last visit was months before her death.
We’re told the pathologist assigned to the case has been told by Murphy’s friends and family that other doctors treated Murphy during her final months. The Coroner’s Office is looking for the other doctors to determine her medical condition leading up to her death.
The pathologist also wants to know what medications may have been prescribed by the other doctors.
The toxicology report is not completed. Once the report reveals the drugs in Murphy’s system at the time of her death, the Coroner’s staff will then determine if the medications were prescribed to Brittany or, possibly, someone else.
As we first reported, investigators found numerous medications in Murphy’s home after her death — medications prescribed to Murphy, Simon Monjack, Brittany’s mother Sharon Murphy and “unidentified third party names.”
We’re told the Coroner will not release the cause of death for weeks.

Stepping out for a swanky night, Hayden Panettiere and boyfriend Wladimir Klitschko attended the Best of Musical Gala in Hamburg, Germany on Saturday (January 30).
The “Heroes” actress and her boxer beau were both dressed to the nines and gladly stopped to pose for pictures before heading inside the Color Line Arena.
The day before, Ms Panettiere glammed up the red carpet as she took to the Elle Gala in Stockholm, Sweden.
As far as switching out her blonde locks for a red-ish hue, the actress says, “I was like, ‘I need to change, I need to get myself out of this slot. I don’t feel like a blonde right now!’”
Being the good big sister she is Miley Cyrus was spotted spending time with younger sis Noah on Saturday (January 30).
Holding hands and joined by Miley’s new fluffy white pup, the gals made their way into a Burbank, CA recording studio.
Meanwhile, the “Party in the USA” singer recently wrote on her blog, “Slept in until my puppy Mate woke me up with kisses @ 10:30! I sat outside for an hour drinking coffee with my dad, mate, and his doggy tex!”

Talking about the moment, Katie tells, “I started hyperventilating because I was so excited. He dropped down on one knee and he said ‘I love you so much. Will you be my Miss America forever?’”
Scheduled to hand over Miss America duties during the ceremony airing on TLC at 8PM tonight (January 30), Katie still can’t believe that she’s on her way to being a married woman.
