trip to rehab!
Yep, he’s got ten years of prescription medication addiction to deal with, so he’ll probably be in there for a while. Of course, his spokesperson had the requisite “we’re so proud of his courage blah blah blah”, and so did his daughter Liv Tyler.
If you ask me, Steven’s getting like the BEST PRESENT EVAH, because guess where HE’S going to be on Christmas? Sitting in a living room with snotty in-laws and crotchety aunts drinking rotten eggnog and watching endless slides of Uncle Bob’s trip to Scotland? Uh, no – he’s going to be in a cushy private clini with private masseuses at his beck and call getting his choice of oh, let’s see, ANYTHING. Clever boy, Steven. Clever boy.

Excited for what’s sure to be a fun filled holiday season with their two kiddies, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were out finishing up some last minute Christmas shopping in West Hollywood on Tuesday (December 22).
The former “Simple Life” star and the Good Charlotte rocker stopped by the Roseark jewelry boutique following Miss Richie’s unsuccessful trip to 14 Karats the previous day.
Aside from prepping for the holidays with Joel, Harlow and little Sparrow, Nicole, 28, is also currently working on her upcoming half-hour sitcom in development at ABC.
As previously reported by Gossip Center, “the pilot centers around a professional woman with complicated family relationships who is struggling to figure out what role she’ll take as her life and her family evolve.”

In an interview with Playboy magazine, that towering leader of the literary world, the legendary (in his own mind) Kanye West would like us all to know that basically, he is like a god, and we mere mortals should be thankful to be in his presence. In other words, BOW DOWN TO YOUR NEW OVERLORD, YOU PESKY MINIONS.
Here’s just one of his pearls of wisdom. I don’t think we could handle more than one; nobody could handle that much enlightenment:

So this week has been somewhat of a busy one….Brittany Murphy died, Tiger Woods had even more shenanigans, and oh, yes….IT’S CHRISTMAS. And Jessica Simpson? Well, danged if she didn’t think of a way to get some attention! No, not doing anything noteworthy or personally edifying…of course not! No, Jessica, decided to take the high road and film herself DIGGING OUT HER EAR WAX. Watch (if you dare):

Gearing up for the Christmas holiday with a little sisterly shopping, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson met up for a Big Apple retail romp on Tuesday afternoon (December 22).
With Ashlee joined by husband Pete Wentz and their son, Bronx Mowgli, the trio strolled past paparazzi as they joined Jessica for shopping sessions at both FAO Schwarz and Barneys.
Always looking fabulous, Jess proudly toted her $4,000+ Louis Vuitton leopard print handbag while her younger sister donned a maroon fedora hat and cute winter boots.
After finishing up with their last-minute holiday shopping trip, the group continued along on their way ahead of Ashlee’s 8PM performance in the Broadway show “Chicago”.

Meanwhile, recent rumors tell that Miss Miller has actually invited her rekindled love interest Jude Law down to Barbados over the Christmas season.
“She is jetting to the Caribbean and has asked Jude if he would like to join her. He’s very much considering the proposal and would love to take up the opportunity but has a number of other considerations - not least his kids,” said a source.

While more details unravel about the death of Brittany Murphy, a toxicology expert says that an accidental overdose “absolutely could have resulted in her untimely death.”
Leaked notes of an investigator of the coroner’s office showed that medications that were found in the 32 year-old’s bedroom.
“Absolutely, mixing a number of these drugs could have resulted in her death,” Dr. Bruce Goldberger, Professor and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine said. “At the moment it is pointing towards an overdose or at least that will have to be ruled out by the autopsy or toxicology results.”
Toxicology tests of the actress won’t be released for a few more weeks.
Husband Simon Monjack said that his wife suffered from a heart murmur and she was not taking any meds for her congenital condition. He added she was only taking herbal tea, ginger and lemon before her death.
Though she did feel ill the day of her death, Goldberg says, “The fact that she had flu-like symptoms should not have put her at any great risk unless she was extremely dehydrated- although anorexia or bulimia could have put her at an increased risk of a cardiac arrest.”
