Taking part in the happenings surrounding Milan Fashion Week, some of Hollywood’s lovely ladies made their way to the amfAR inaugural gala in Milan, Italy on Monday night (September 28).
With Rachel Bilson and Dita Von Teese both hitting the red carpet, the pair of beauties were all smiles as they posed for pictures upon arriving to La Permanente for the evening’s festivities.
As previously reported by Gossip Center, the event is to be chaired by Janet Jackson, while Dita is lined up to perform a special burlesque routine for the attendees.
Talking about the event, Kevin Robert Frost, amfAR’s chief executive officer, said, “For amfAR, coming to Milan is like coming home—or at least like visiting your closest friends. The Italian fashion community has been incredibly welcoming and generous to amfAR.”
Getting to work on his latest project, Mel Gibson threw on a beaver hand puppet while shooting scenes for “The Beaver” in Upstate New York on Monday (September 28).
The film, which is directed by and co-stars Jodie Foster, is about “a guy walking around with a puppet of a beaver on his hand who treats it like a living creature.”
As for his personal life, Mel is currently expecting a child with girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva - though the two have no plans to tie the knot at the current time.
Oksana recently told press: “We have no plans to marry whatsoever. I haven’t thought about it. How could one not be impressed with such an intimate connection with the miracle of life? It’s beautiful, children are beautiful.”

Over the weekend, reports came out that Jennifer Love Hewitt split from Jamie Kennedy due to his infidelity.
An unknown source said that Jamie, 39, “has been cheating on Jennifer Love Hewitt with his ex-girlfriend, Shannon Funk.”
However, contrary to these reports, the 30-year-old actress’s rep told Us Magazine the two are still going strong and that the rumors are made up.
The rep said, “This is a completely fabricated story made up by a disgruntled former employee, terminated for cause. Jamie and Jennifer are happy and still together.”

Over the weekend, Vanessa Minnillo (who has reunited with ex-flame Nick Lachey) was busy promoting the DSW Presents: Step Up & Step Out shindig, to benefit the female empowerment charity.
And while chatting with press, the former MTV veejay revealed how important it is for younger women to have role models to look up to.
Vanessa explained, “I didn’t have my real mother growing up. My dad was always there, but there is something about a woman’s touch. So I’ve literally drawn from so many women in my life, and I was fortunate enough to be able to have that.”
