Who knew this day was coming? Well, probably all of us, but that’s neither here or there. Mischa Barton, known primarily for her work in “The OC” and as a Keds shoe spokeswoman, is in the crazy house. Like, the REAL crazy house, people. She has been placed under involuntary psychiatric hold and is currently at Cedar-Sinai in Los Angeles. Her rep had this to say:
“Mischa has been hospitalized per the recommendation of her doctor and is resting in the hospital.”
Apparently police were called to her house around 3 PM yesterday and judged that she needed some help; no word on what was going on, but if she was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold, it was something pretty nuts. Here’s the official definition of California’s “5150″:
Section 5150 is a section of the California Welfare and Institutions Code (specifically, the Lanterman-Petris-Short Act or “LPS”) which allows a qualified officer or clinician to involuntarily confine a person deemed to have a mental disorder that makes them a danger to him or her self, and/or others and/or gravely disabled. A qualified officer, which includes any California peace officer, as well as any specifically designated county clinician, can request the confinement after signing a written declaration. When used as a term, 5150 (pronounced “fifty-one-fifty”) can informally refer to the person being confined or to the declaration itself.[1]
In order for a police officer to put someone under a 5150, they have to be a danger to themselves or others, so we know a little bit about what was happening. Maybe she just watched old reruns of “The OC” too many times? That would do it for me!

Continuing along with her charitable endeavors, Kim Kardashian visited the Cotlands Shelter for abused and orphaned HIV children and the ‘Diamonds for Dignity’ feeding Centre in Soweto on Thursday (July 16).
Joined by her boyfriend Reggie Bush and sister Khloe, the trio posed for pictures and handed out sporting goods before heading off to McDonald’s.
Enjoying every moment of her overseas adventure, Miss Kardashian has been busily tweeting away, telling, “This trip is like none other! I wish u all could experience this with me!”
The E! reality babe added, “These children are so precious!!! They were so appreciative of the food & love we gave them! When people buy diamonds it pays for these children’s feeding & HIV-AIDS Centers”
Tending to her all-important motherly duties, Ashlee Simpson stepped out with Bronx Mowgli in Sherman Oaks on Thursday (July 16).
The “Pieces of Me” singer toted her darling baby boy in her arms as the pair headed off for an afternoon playdate on what was a hot summer day.
Meanwhile, Miss Simpson recently responded to rumors that she’s recording an album of Michael Jackson covers, as she tells that she has no intention of doing so.
Of the MJ talk, she tweeted, “Haha jeez. I loved MJ enough 2 (sic) never in my wildest dreams think of doing a tribute album. R.I.P. A legend. Enough with the goofy stories!”
Back on the set for another day’s work, Kristen Stewart was out filming scenes for “The Runaways” in Los Angeles on Thursday (July 16).
Joined by rock legend Joan Jett, the Bella Swan babe strolled along in between takes, having on-set workers shield her with an umbrella before the cameras started rolling.
In related news, rumors are abuzz the Miss Stewart will be reuniting with her “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson at the big Comic-Con convention next week.
And, according to insiders, the pair will quite possible be shacking up in the same San Diego hotel for the course of their stay.

The 32-year-old tells, “I think ‘She Wolf’ has a lot to do with the moment in which I feel I am. I feel much freer now as a woman, a little more in touch with my own desires, and I tend to listen to myself a little more. ‘What does Shakira want?’ Not what everybody else wants, but what do I really want? And I think that the song deep inside is about that.”
Explaining that “She Wolf” is a bit of an alter ego, Shakira adds, “(It’s) like a more animalistic side of you, a more primitive side ... an animal person in a way. So when you understand these things you forgive yourself every time you screw up, you say, ‘It wasn’t me, that was the she wolf ... that was the animal in me, that wasn’t me, I have nothing to do with that.’”

And according to fans, Miss Greene and Mr Lutz caused a bit of a frenzy among fans, with one attendee telling press that “having a picture made with Ashley and Kellan” was at the top of her priority list. Another enthusiast shared, “I was shaking and really excited when I met Ashley.”
