         It has been confirmed that CTV’s ETalk reporter and Canadian Idol’s host Ben Mulroney, 31, is now engaged to girlfriend Jessica Brownstein . The son of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney popped the big question over lunch at a Montreal diner.

The Montreal waitress that was working at the time told reporters;

I turned around and there he was, down on one knee, and then they were hugging and kissing and she was saying, ‘Yes, yes, yes.’ “

I’m sooooo jealous! I guess my chance of snagging him are slim-2-none now!! haha… No wedding date has been set. However, when it does happen it’s going to be Royal!… I’m gunna be all over that like butter on toast!

The sight of celebrity MILF Angelina Jolie landing top honors in lists/surveys is starting to get really tired.

Jolie, hot mom to the most influential baby in the world, and recently declared the sexiest movie star ever, comes out on top again this year, this time in a survey of the best celebrity do-gooders of 2007. Conducted by Reuters, the survey asked a total of 606 respondents who they thought gave “celebrity humanitarianism” a really good name in 2007. Angelina came out no. 1. And she’s in mighty good company, as the people surveyed also named Bono, Desmond Tutu, Bill Gates, Mia Farrow, Don Cheadle, Jimmy Carter and Kofi Annan. Even hubby Brad Pitt made the list.

On the other end of spectrum is Madonna, the worst celebrity humanitarian of the year. Strangely enough, this list also includes Bono, as well as Oprah Winfrey. Not really sure about the last two, but the respondents were surely on to something when they named Paris Hilton too, though it would have been better if she got the top spot instead.

Well, stick a fork in Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn, because this couple is DONE:

No other details were immediately available. The couple, who’ve been married 11 years, have two children together, Hopper Jack, 14, and Dylan Frances, 16.

Penn, 47, and Wright, 41, began dating in the early ’90s and married in 1996. They also have starred together in several films, including 1998’s Hurlyburly and 1997’s She’s So Lovely, directed by Nick Cassavetes.

The year 2007 saw a good number of celebrities getting knocked up left and right. Some, like Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera, had sperm donors who are married to them. Many celebs, however, have gotten pregnant this year without a wedding band around their little ring finger. Smart girls. Well, not really, especially the one occupying the top spot in this list.

10. Brooke Burke

Just recently, she described herself as some sort of a “baby factory”. I couldn’t agree more. She’s currently preggy with her fourth child and her second with fiance David Charvet.

Salma’s admission that she was pregnant and engaged to some rich French guy took us by surprise. The upside to this is that her boobs got bigger than ever.

7. Nicole Richie

It looks like Casey Aldridge might NOT be the father of Jamie Lynn Spears baby….so who is? Well, here’s a rumor:

An American magazine is reporting BRITNEY’S sister’s long-term boyfriend CASEY ALDRIDGE is NOT the baby’s father.

Sources told Star mag that an executive on her TV show, Zoey 101, who is believed to be much older than 16-year-old Jamie Lynn, is the real dad.

The source said: “Casey is being paid off to be the family’s fall guy while the real father remains unidentified.

“The man many suspect is the father, however, would face charges and probably prison time if he were to come forward and admit he had sex with her.”

Ever since Jamie Lynn revealed her pregnancy secret last week, rumours have been rife that she and Casey were no longer an item and have not been for some months.

She was recently trying to date KEVIN FEDERLINE’S brother, according to one US gossip column.

Casey meanwhile has been described as a “serial cheater” who has previously had a pregnancy scare with another girl.

The source added: “This past spring, he was forced to tell Jamie Lynn that he’d cheated on her and gotten that girl pregnant.”

Good Lord. At this point, nothing about the Spears family would surprise me….it just keeps getting further down the White Trash scale. Next thing you know they’ll be hawking mullet wigs and building additions to their trailer houses:
